I'm not really surprised... Except the fact that I would have written the line if (BP != API is not done for servers application where it needs to connect and disconnect often: you can only get memory leaks and it will break (from my own experience, it should occur around 100 or so connections).
If you cannot do else except using DI for your web application, then at least implement a cache mechanism for the connection to the company.
For servers application, the minimum is to use the DI-Server or the "to-go" is B1if.
