Re: SQL server doesn't exist or access denied || SAP NW 7.4 installation || Distributed environment

Hi Everyone

Thanks for your valuable suggestions and guidance. This issue is resolved by opening the firewall ports.

However, during the last "execution" phase installation is getting stuck at this phase:

instance reached state unknown after having state starting.

FYI... I've already performed following troubleshooting steps:

1. Maintained correct host file entries.

2. Marked the option to use DDIC default password during installation.

3. Tried registering the systems in local security policies.

When I checked the log files, I found out the following error message in the file:

It seems that SAP is trying to hit the DB using windows authentication method (which is not allowed as servers are not in same domain & RDP is also disabled between the servers). However, I'm able to connect to the DB server from APP server (through SQL Management Studio) using SQL authentication method. In addition, I had already configured the SQL database in mixed-mode (SQL + Windows authentication).

Is there any way that we can configure our APP server / SAP software to use SQL authentication instead of windows authentication ?

Attached is the dev_w0.log file

Any advice is highly appreciable.

Regards

Hardeep
