It works just like any other BI4 Objects, such as WebI Report, Crystal Report, Lumira, ...
Back-up Steps:
- Validate proper System DNS has been configured to be used by Universe
- Create Secure connection from UMT
- Use the UMT tool to properly export the Universe to the CMS Repo
- Logon into to CMC and use Promotion Manager to back-up the Universe with the Connection to a LCMBIAR file
Restore on Same System:
- Use Promotion Manager to restore LCMBIAR file on same system. CUID fully retained
- Use UMT to import Universe from CMS Repo after successful PM restore
Restore on Different /New System:
- Create System DSN to match Universe connection required
- Use Promotion Manager to restore LCMBIAR file on another system.
- Use the UMT tool to import Universe from CMS Repo
- Full content retained
